Book Signings and Promotions 2017
I visited the UK in August and September for a hectic round of book promotions including signings and customer meetings.
In August and September I visited the UK to promote sales and awareness of Bound by Polaris.
Ullacombe Farm laid on a very successful book signing event for me over 2 weekends in September. Situated on the outskirts of Bovey Tracey, Devon (where Bound by Polaris is set), and just inside the Dartmoor National Park it was the ideal place to meet locals and tourists, talk about the book and sign copies. Thanks again to the delightful staff at Ullacombe and especially Deb and Sheree for their help and support. Bound by Polaris is now in stock at this idyllic café and farm produce outlet.
Deep inside Dartmoor is the Pixieland Shop located on one of the main routes through the moors for tourists exploring Dartmoor. I met the lovely Glynis who runs a bustling tourist retail outlet and café. Thank you for taking the time to meet me and your interest and future commitment.
At the top of the high moor lies Princetown home to the notorious HM Dartmoor Prison. I dropped into the Princetown Tourist and Information Centre, where I spoke about the book and about Ted Cartwright, who is serving a life sentence for brutally murdering five women on Dartmoor fifteen years earlier.
Taking time off from promotions around Dartmoor I visited Waterstones shops in Exeter, Plymouth and Torquay and met their friendly managers and front desk staff to talk about the book and promote its local aspects. Waterstones realise that books set in and around the South West always do very well. Here’s me with the Waterstone’s manager in Exeter, ……….
In mid-September I took a quick break from promotions and spent 3 days with family at Olga Polizzi’s wonderful boutique Tresanton Hotel in one of the most magnificent locations in England sited right on the cliff walk at St Mawes, Cornwall with unparalleled views across the entrance to Falmouth Harbour and the Carrick Roads. Here is a picture of me (with my book) taken on ‘Pinuccia’, Olga’s beautiful classic 8 metre racing yacht. Thanks to the staff of Tresanton for a memorable stay.
Finally I have to mention the Dartmouth Bookshop, Harbour Bookshop Kingsbridge and Ashby’s large and impressive retail outlet at East Charleton for their commitment and interest in my novel.
